I decided at the beginning of the year that I would enter every single month of Furious Fiction this year, no excuses!
In January I was thrilled to find that I had made the longlist of entrants, for the first time since discovering this contest in 2019. I have never considered myself someone who can write a short story, and doing so in 500 words seemed impossible, yet I have found it to be quite good exercise. I like the challenge of writing to a set of parameters, and to a strict deadline.
Then this week I discovered that out of 1200 entries, I beat out 97% of writers to be longlisted for the second month in a row!! This was especially gratifying for me, as for both January and February, I entered using two different pseudonyms.
What magic milestone did you reach in your writing journey this week?
