Here are a list of tropes that you will be seeing from me in the 2023/2024 year.
1. Friends to more, literally my very favourite trope in existence. I adore the idea that someone you have known for ages is ‘the one’. I love the idea that love doesn’t have to come in screaming and parading around, that sometimes it comes in quietly when you least expect it.
2. Fake relationship. I love a marriage of convenience or a fake dating scenario. I have always been fascinated by those real-life couples whose marriages were arranged. The ones I personally know have grown to love each other and go on to have very successful relationships.
3. Found family. As a foster mother myself, I know that family does not need to be born to you to be yours. My own family, those people that I would die for, is made up of four people, not including myself, only one of whom is related to me. In 2023/2024 you can expect to see single parents, foster parents, and friends in my found families’ books.
4. Small-town romance. This will always be a feature in my novels. Having been born and raised in a small town and having once again found myself living in a small town, I love the nuances that come from life in a small town.
5. Rural romance. Again, this is always going to feature heavily in my books. Living in a small town in rural Australia, surrounded by the harsh desert and clear blue skies, the landscape is in my soul.
